The public transit. I have
been re-acquainted with it recently. It's
always an interesting experience when you
take the transit. You don't know what sort
of things you will encounter. The things
you see or smell can be a story itself.
Yes, I did say smell. Taking the transit
no more than ten days of the month has reminded
me of this.
After many years of driving,
you forget some of the things that go on
with our transit system. You start to take
all that for granted. How quickly you get
from point A to point B. The roominess and
comfort you get from sitting in your car.
The freedom to play your music as loud as
you can. Even the warmth of the heat is
something you don't even think about until
you stand in the cold bus. And the only
foul smell you get is from fumes coming
in to your car through the ventilation system
or you.
You quickly remember all this
when you are standing next to a loud, foul
smelling person. While you fight to stop
breathing, you know you would have to deal
with it since you have nowhere to go in
a packed bus. And the only thought in your
mind is that your stop will come soon. Ahh...
yes, the beauty of a car. |
